INFOGRAPHIC GALLERY

The first step of this DNP Project was to explore the feasibility of faculty-developed infographics for use in nursing education. Did you know that our very own Florence Nightingale is credited as being a contributor to the concept of infographics?

This infographic gallery is testimony to the development of visual literacy skills required to execute this process. Visual literacy suggests that one can both interpret and create visual information. In the 21st century, nurses prepared with the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree will be uniquely positioned to be the creators of synthesized, visual information. Their skill set should reflect an ability to generate self-developed infographics (Bradshaw, 2015).

Piktochart was the primary software used for the infographics presented in this DNP Project.

10 Steps to Designing An Amazing Infographic

The DNP Immersion Experience requires that a student spend at least 500 clinical hours implementing the DNP Project. My immersion experience was spent preparing a series of presentations (click on DNP link above), developing the expertise to translate data into infographic format (evidenced by the gallery here), designing and revising CEU programs for controlled substances (see the More Information tab), and creating a comprehensive module for student use on the WHO Guide to Good Prescribing. My program required a reflection paper on the DNP Immersion Experience as well as a log of the hours spent.
